Hi, I’m Dr. Jeff Leipzig, a board-certified allergist with Family Allergy and Asthma. People all across our region find themselves struggling with allergies. Their symptoms are often interfering with their day-to-day activities disrupting sleep; affecting their overall quality of life. Many times over-the-counter medications aren’t enough to get their symptoms under control. The most common symptoms are sinus congestion, runny nose, post nasal drip, sneezing, coughing, and itchy or watery eyes. Other symptoms that may be related to allergies are headaches, fatigue, poor concentration and even a loss of smell and taste. Seasonal allergies occur with pollen season. Whereas, allergies to dust mites, mold, and pets can occur year-round. If your allergy symptoms are making you miserable it may be time to see an allergist. We can administer an allergy skin test that will help identify what you are allergic to and determine the most effective treatment for your allergies.
