Did you know you may not really be allergic
to penicillin? A new study by the American College of Allergy,
Asthma and Immunology says at least 90% of those labeled with penicillin allergies have
grown out of it or were misdiagnosed in the first place. Penicillin is an antibiotic that fights bacteria
in your body. it is used to treat many different types of
infections caused by bacteria. Misdiagnoses can lead patients to take antibiotics
that have more side effects than penicillin would. Doctors are suggesting visiting an allergist
to get tested to see if you are really allergic to penicillin.
