Hi guys it’s April with Happy Healin’
Vegan. Welcome back to my channel. So you guys it’s been such a long time
since I’ve recorded a video and I’m so sorry. But life kind of got in the way.
Anyways I wanted to jump on and cover a really important topic today which is
environmental toxins: where they come from and what we can do about them. So
you guys when I was sick with Lyme disease about three years ago, one of the
things that really helped me heal my health was to reduce my toxins. So if you
are not sick yet please keep listening because reducing your toxins can really
help prevent illness in the future. Because some of these toxins have been
linked to things like cancer, allergies, asthma, autism, infertility, thyroid issues,
and so much more. Now the term toxins is really broad so what the heck do I mean
when I say toxins? So you guys I’m talking about things like BPA, glyphosphate,
fragrances, herbicides, pesticides, parabens, insecticides,
chemicals, dioxins. The list goes on and on. And where do we find things like this?
Unfortunately these toxins are found pretty much everywhere. So they are in
our food; they’re also in things that we put on our skin like cosmetics, shampoos,
conditioners, toothpaste, deodorant, body lotions, sunscreen, also in our clothes, in
our dryer sheets, and our laundry detergent and all of our cleaning
supplies. And then also in air fresheners. And you guys the scariest part is that
we are breathing in these toxins all day long, not only through our nostrils
but also when you put things on your skin it only takes about 25 seconds for
them to absorb through your skin and into your bloodstream. And your skin is
your largest organ so we really need to take care of
but also these toxins are probably affecting your kids and/or pets as well.
Okay so enough gloom and doom. What the heck do we do about these
toxins? The good news is that there are a plethora of things that you can do to
reduce the toxic overload in your body. So I’m going to go through a quick list
of some of my favorites. My first recommendation would be to eat a whole
food plant-based diet that is full of fiber. So a whole food plant-based diet
will have a lot less toxins than eating animal products. But also when you eat a
lot of fiber it helps flush out the excess toxins from your body. My second
recommendation would be to choose organic whenever possible. So you guys I
know that organic fruits and vegetables may be a little bit more
expensive but they’ll be totally worth it in the long run. However, if you cannot
buy all organic go ahead and stick with the Dirty Dozen. I will post it below in
the description but these are the foods that you should always try to buy
organic and then you can forget about the rest. My third recommendation would
be to go bpa-free and to buy things in glass whenever possible. And you guys
make sure that you skip those receipts at the grocery stores because they are
full of bpa and when you touch them and they absorb in your fingers and into
your skin in less than 25 seconds. My fourth recommendation would be to stay
hydrated and to move your body. So make sure that you get exercise and you work
up a sweat so that you’ll flush out some of those toxins. My fifth tip would be to
use essential oils for cleaning and as an air freshener. And you guys my last tip
is to check out the website ewg.org. It is a completely free resource and
it’s where I go in I’m thinking about buying packaged food
or cosmetics or body care or cleaning products. And it’ll tell you exactly what is safe, what isn’t safe and what chemicals and
ingredients are used in the product. So when you go to the ewg website you can
type in products or food or brand names. I’m just gonna type in mineral fusion
cosmetics and search and this takes a minute. You guys I’m sorry my internet
with being very slow. But once it pulls it up it’ll give you a rating with EWG verified being the best and the number 10 being the worst and the most
harmful to your health. You can also look below to see what the ingredient
concerns are. All right you guys, I hope you enjoyed that quick video about
environmental toxins. You guys I know it can be so overwhelming and completely
scary. So please just start slow. Maybe switch
one thing out at a time and then go from there. If you enjoyed this video please
make sure to give me a thumbs up, please subscribe and also comment below if you
want more information about toxins or if you would like to see the products that
I use every day to try to keep my body and my home safe. Alright you guys have a
great week and I will see you soon with a brand new video. Bye.

  1. Hello everyone, I hope that you enjoy this video regarding environmental toxins. Please comment below if you are interested in finding out more about this topic. Thank you for watching!

  2. This is such an important topic and one that most people are unaware of. So many companies are getting on board with BPA-free and fragrance-free products, thank goodness. It is essential that we understand what ingredients to avoid in sunscreens, lotions, etc. And diffusing essential oil is soooooooo fabulous and so much better than air fresheners or candles. Even the cleaners marketed as “green” or “healthy” often still have fragrances. Ugh. Thanks for helping us all to be more aware so we can stay healthy!
