Hi, my name is Heidi and I’m a Fairview pharmacist. Today we’ll be talking about
the Ellipta inhaler The Ellipta inhaler has a few important parts There’s the cover which covers both the
mouthpiece and the air vents and there’s a dose counter on the front which
reflects how many doses are left in the inhaler. When you’re
ready to use your Ellipta inhaler slide the cover over to the side its
until you hear click this means that your doses ready. Then breathe out, lift the inhaler to your mouth breathe in quickly and deeply making sure
not to cover the air vents hold your breath for about three to four
seconds and let the breath out. when you’re done using the Ellipta, you can
simply close the mouthpiece. If you have any questions, please contact your pharmacist or doctor. Thank you

  1. I just got prescribed this and haven't received it yet, I was wondering how similar to Advair it was – seems pretty close, except Advair has two steps before you inhale rather than just one.

  2. Turn your head away from the inhaler when you breathe out, and hold your breath for 10 seconds or whatever feels comfortable!! Don't forget to rinse your mouth out with water to avoid oral thrush.

  3. One piece of information missing, you must and I mean must rinse your mouth out after inhaling. !!!!!!!! VERY IMPORTANT.

  4. This is the worst asthma medication I have tried! This medication will cause you to have thrush and I do not recommend you to use it. The mouthpiece is tiny and you cannot even get your lips around it.
