or pollen and many of these air purifiers are reported that those plates, because of
the charge, can make a zappiing which is kind of annoying. Number five is carbon and zeolite and I put
these two together because they’re both minerals. Both are very porous and have millions of
little pockets and because of that they can trap gases fumes, and odors. The pros of carbon
and zeolite are they’re one of the best for capturing fumes, odors and they’re relatively
inexpensive substance. The cons are they have to be replaced (or leave it out in the Sun
which can sometimes release all the gases and fumes) . Over months those little pockets
get filled with the gas then they don’t really gather anything else. And carbon replacement
filters can also be overpriced. Number six is a pre-filter they’re just like a screen
door as seen in this picture. A pre-filter sits in front of other filters
but it can collect large particles like hair and some dust which you can wash. The pros
are that they’re inexpensive – it’s often plastic which is fine – they’re washable
and they can extend the life of the HEPA filters so the hepa filter doesn’t have to catch those
things. And because it’s washable it allows you to extend the life of the HEPA filter
before replacing. The cons are it really doesn’t clean that much – just some of the larger
things in the air but it’s good to have because it’ll save you money. It’s relatively inexpensive
. NUmber 7 is ozone. You probably heard a lot about ozone it’s simply – as in the diagram
here – oxygen which is O2 that by an electrical charge becomes O3 and that’s exactly what
happens when you have a lightning storm – lightning will create ozone in the air which actually
also cleans the atmosphere . So that ozone – through an ozone generator – or ozone air
purifier – will go out into the room and basically purifies. The pros are its relatively inexpensive

it really doesn’t capture any dust or pollen. And too much ozone can harm the lungs in very

bother them. So basically it doesn’t clean the air so I wouldn’t suggest it as a primary
filter. I will use ozone on occasion but I don’t go in the room when I use it. I let
it run for a couple hours to treat a room but I don’t use it as my day-to-day method
