How to Use a Nebulizer : How to Use Nebulizer Mask With a Child

So now we’re ready to actually use the nebulizer
with the child and whoever it is that’s going to be using it. As you can see I’ve got the
compressor on a flat surface. Got it plugged in. I got everything connected up. We’re going
to be using the mask with Autumn and I have the medication inside. So what I’m going to
do is I’m going to come around here and show you how to place it on the face of the child.
I’ll go ahead and actually put it on her first. Carefully wrap it around like so and then
you want to find out from them how it feels. Is that too tight Autumn or does that feel
okay? Okay. That’s feels okay? Alright, so you’ve got the ability to tighten or to loosen
with the strings right here, they’re pretty flexible. Okay, so the next step everything
is all in position. She’s comfortable, you don’t want them to be in a area where they’re
going to be to fall off or be jumping around, that kind of thing. As you can see also she’s
got a book here, something to keep her occupied during the treating which it’s probably going
to take anywhere from about 8 to 10 minutes. And then we can go ahead and turn it on. You
know that it’s working properly when you see the mist. The mist will be kind of be going
in and out accordance with her breath. So that let’s you know that it is working and
it is therefore going to be going into her lungs which is where you want the medicine
to be going. Does that feel comfortable? And she can either hold it herself or you can
stay there and hold it for her depending on with the particular child.

  1. There are several reasos why that's inappropriate. If you occasionally have difficulty breathing, you should see a medical professional to determine the cause. This may be the wrong treatment and not help at all. You shouldn't ignore your symptoms. Also, all medications have side effects and contraindications. I wish you good healthll, because I'm a Respiratory Therapist and I ove to see people breathing well.

  2. I never stand.. I always lay down on the couch or somethin (sitting my uper body up tho)

  3. the long term effects of albuterol sulfate has Not Been Studied at all. no data exists- except for the fact that i spent 6 years of my life doing it and have suffered inexplicable respiratory consequences and subsequent early development as a result of this steroid use in addition to psychological impairment.THIS HAS NOT BEEN TESTED go ahead and do research you will not find it. it penetrates the blood-brain barrier and ATTACKS the pineal/pituitarygland

  4. I also questioned why it is necessary to hold the mask if it is already held in place by the straps.
