Hold the respimat upright. Turn the transparent base in the direction of the arrow until you hear a click. Open the cap till it snaps in place. Sit-up straight or stand up. Tilt your head back slightly. Breathe out completely away from the respimat. Place respimat in your mouth, press the dose release button as
soon as you begin to breathe in slowly and deeply. Hold your breath for 10 seconds or as long as you are comfortable
and breathe out slowly through mouth or nose. Close the cap.

  1. COMBIVENT RESPIMAT is indicated for use in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) on a regular aerosol bronchodilator who continue to
have evidence of bronchospasm and who require a second bronchodilator. Under the new guidelines issued by the FDA, products with certain propellants will now be discontinued. So Combivent respimat is a new inhalation device which delivers the medicine as a soft mist inhalation without using any propellants.

  2. I try to use it. need hard effort for entering catridge into device. I've doubt a patient can do for the first time.
Before use it, the device must be sprayed to the air 3 times.

  3. Often when I use my Combivent, as soon as I inhale it triggers a cough & the medicine didn't even get a chance to get into my lungs.
So it's a wasted dose but I can't use it again for at least 4 hours.

Any tips on how to prevent this??
