Hello, I’m Alex and in this short video
we’re gonna discuss if benadryl, also known as diphenhydramine is safe to
give your dog. As a quick note you should always consult with your veterinarian
before administering any dosage as benadryl can have adverse reactions in
some rare instances. Now, according to Dr. Katy Nelson benadryl is generally well
tolerated by dogs and has a wide margin of safety.
It can help dogs experiencing environmental allergies, and allergic
reaction to insect bites or stings. It’s also a mild sedative and may assist dogs
with motion sickness. It’s important to note that not all medication containing
benadryl is safe to use. Liquid medications for colds often contain high
alcohol content that may be unsafe for your pet. Also, if your pet is
experiencing facial swelling or difficulty breathing you should seek
immediate help from your local pet hospital. Did you know that Holistapet

dealing with anxiety, skin irritations, and allergies? Over the past 12 years, Holistapet has perfected their process through using only plant-based super

  1. In the UK benadryl contains Acrivastine and often contains pseudoephedrine which should be avoided in dogs. It does not contain Diphenhydramine which is the active ingredient in US benadryl. Be aware.
