Las Vegas allergist Dr. Mary Beth Hogan discusses eczema and allergies

[music playing] Atopic dermatitis is intertwined with allergies. It turns out about 75 percent of individuals who have eczema also have allergies that are capable of setting their eczema off. Now, in infants, this is frequently food. It can be egg, it can be milk, it can be a variety of different foods that set off the eczema or the atopic dermatitis. However, it’s also important to know that there’s other allergies that can be linked to eczema or atopic dermatitis flares. And these can be pets such as cats and dogs, dust mites, molds or other things that come into contact with the skin. [music playing]
