Common cold, runny nose and other uncomplicated
upper respiratory tract diseases (URTD) are the main cause of infectious
morbidity in people around the world. If the final healing and recovery
stages are not completed properly, serious complications may occur,
such as bronchitis or asthma. Mainly children and seniors after repeated infections are at risk. Biomag low-frequency pulsed magnetic
therapy can have a positive effect on many symptoms of the disease, such as
swelling of the mucous membranes; it can accelerate regeneration of the ciliated
epithelium, it dilates the airways, reduces inflammation and decreases the frequency
of repeat infections and diseases. Bronchitis is a common problem,
especially in young children, but also in adults. In addition to
targeted antibiotic (if indicated) and mucolytic treatment to manage
the acute stage, the final treatment and recovery period
are also extremely important. Improper follow-up care of bronchitis
leads to a transition to chronicity and increases the risk of the development
of other serious health complications. Low-frequency pulsed magnetic therapy
is indicated from the beginning of the disease; it reduces the symptoms of the
disease – mucosal swelling, improves the breathing capacity of the lungs, facilitates
the coughing up of mucus, stimulates the anti-infection system and generally
improves the effects of antibiotic therapy. The overall treatment time is shortened. Application of magnetic
therapy during the bronchitis recovery period accelerates
regeneration of the airway epithelium,
stimulates the immune system and thus reduces
recurrence of the disease. Bronchial asthma is characterised
by bouts of breathlessness caused by a functional obstruction (narrowing,
obstruction) of the airways. The main mechanisms responsible
for the obstruction are smooth muscle spasms in bronchi of all
sizes, perfusion and swelling of the mucous membranes and increased
secretion of thick mucus. Asthma is caused by an overreaction of
the bronchi to numerous stimuli. Comprehensive treatment should
include rehabilitation, exercise, cold toughening
up, spa treatment, etc. The spasmolytic and
anti-oedemic effects of Biomag low-frequency pulsed magnetic
therapy improve airway patency. The strong vasodilatory
effect on the precapillary arterioles leads to improved
microcirculation of oxygenated blood in lung tissue and better
oxygenation of the blood; at the same time, an anti-swelling
effect is manifested. During acute problems, spasmolytic
frequencies should be applied; later on, to prevent repeat attacks, healing and
regeneration programs should rather be used.
