Non-ReBreather mask (NRB). BSI. My patient is
showing signs of hypoxia. I’m going to prepare my oxygen tank. Attach my non-
rebreather and set my liters per minute to 15. I will put my thumb over the
one-way valve and watched the bag (or reservoir) fill. I will put the mask
directly over the nose and mouth and secure it to the patient.
I will then fit it so that it has a tight seal over the mouth and nose. I
will assess my patient with pulse oximetry with the intent of maintaining
and spo2 of 94 or higher and I will listen to lung sounds.
