EYEWITNESS NEWS REPORTER KEMBERLY RICHARDSON SPOKE TO THE DUO ABOUT THEIR HEROICS. >>I BELIEVE ONCE YOU KNOW CPR, IT’S LIKE KNOWING HOW TO RIDE A BIKE. >>Reporter: THESE NYPD OFFICERS PROVED JUST THAT, TUESDAY AFTERNOON. >>TURNED ON OUR LIGHTS AND SIRENS AND RUSHED THERE AS FAST AS WE COULD. >>Reporter: RUSHED HERE TO THIS HOME ON HENDRICKS AVENUE IN STATEN ISLAND WHERE THEY FOUND A 7-YEAR-OLD GIRL WHO WASN’T MOVING OR BREATHING. >>KID WAS ON THE FLOOR, THE PERSON — JUST WANT TO HELP, YOU KNOW? GET HER BREATHING BACK TO LIFE. >>THE MOM WAS SCREAMING, THE FATHER WAS SAYING HELP HER, HELP HER. THAT’S WHEN THE TRAINING KICKED IN AND WE DID WHAT WE WERE TRAINED TO DO. >>Reporter: OFFICER STARTED DOING CHEST COMPRESSIONS AS THE OTHER OFFICER CALLED AN AMBULANCE. THE GIRL HAS ASTHMA AND WAS HAVING A SEVERE ATTACK. HER PARENTS TRIED DOING CPR BUT IT DIDN’T WORK. ABOUT TWO MINUTES AFTER THE OFFICER STARTED WORKING ON THE PATIENT, A HUGE BREAKTHROUGH. >>THE FIRST BREATH WAS EMOTIONAL FOR EVERYONE, MOM WAS CRYING, THE FIRST BREATH — VERY EMOTIONAL. >>Reporter: BOTH OFFICERS WHO HAVE LITTLE KIDS SAY THE ENTIRE TIME WHILE THEY WERE FOCUSED ON SAVING A LITTLE GIRL THEY WERE THINKING ABOUT THEIR OWN FAMILIES. TODAY THE CHILD IS RECOVERING, MOM IS BY HER SIDE IN THE HOSPITAL. WHICH IS WHERE THESE OFFICERS SAY THEY GOT A SIGN, CONFIRMATION, WHAT THEY ARE DOING REALLY DOES MATTER. >>WE WENT TO THE HOSPITAL
