[Peter] Ready…set… [Peter grunts] [Mary] Oh, yes! Cheers! ♬ Oh, you gotta breathe, breathe, breathe ♬ ♬ Let it go and let it be, be, be ♬ [Mary] Good morning you guys. [Mary] I thought I’d show you… [Mary] minus the bag of trash here… [Mary] Look at the sunshine coming in the window. [Mary] Oh my goodness. It’s from that arched window right there. [Mary sighs] [Mary] This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. [Mary] We’ll take it one… [Mary] one hour at a time and see what it brings. If you were around for the last two vlogs you may have seen that I have not been feeling well. And yesterday I started two oral antibiotics, and um… [clicks tongue] Yeah, we’re hoping that they can help kick whatever my body’s got going on. And I’m hopeful that today will be easier than yesterday. Yesterday was just probably… probably one of the harder days in the last couple of months. Which is crazy to say because I’ve been on the new vertex med for 11 weeks. So that’s just about three months. And yeah, I’m grateful to say I… don’t have as many bad days, and um… yesterday was a pretty rough one. So, I’m hopeful that today is gonna be different. I don’t know yet. So far, it feels like a little less headache than yesterday. I don’t really feel… any headache right now, and yesterday it wasn’t, it wasn’t really a… it wasn’t like a horrible headache. It was a lot of pressure and um… the headache pain just switched from side to side. It was just very odd. But I’m hopeful that today is different. I… I’m awake, I’m alive, and my head doesn’t even hurt. And I’m reppin’ the vintage Frey Life. So, got that. Good morning guys. Part of… the morning routine is I usually grab Mary her Pulmozyme out of the fridge and take it up to her while she’s doing her vest and mists, but… since there’s kind of a clear shot from down here by the front door, up to our bedroom right up there, I’m gonna see if I can perfect my throw. Oh, yeah, there’s Mary all the way up there. [Peter] Okay, I’m gonna see if I can perfect my throw from here to the bed. All right, you ready for this? [Peter] All right. I’m gonna set you guys down. We’ll see how this goes. [Peter] Ready…set… [Peter grunts] [Mary] Oh, yes! [Peter] I got it?! [Mary] It landed right in front of me on the bed. [Peter] Yes! And I bounced it off the door, didn’t I? [Peter] Hmm, I think so. It came up, bounced off the door, landed on the bed. [coughing] [Peter] We did it, Ollie. [coughing] [Peter] Oh…I was downstairs and I heard Mary call for help, and… [Peter] it was a rough moment of throw up. Well… [Peter] We caught it. We caught it. Um, I had felt, like, I took my antibiotics and I was like, okay, wow, I’m not nauseous. That’s great. That’s great because I’m going to be on these antibiotics for two weeks. But then as I, I was like, doing my vest, whatever, and I was like… I’m starting to feel nauseous. So I took zofran. And then I was like, feeling more nauseous. So I stopped my vest, but then I was like, it was like zero to 100. I was like, oh, oh no, oh no. And like, so I started calling for Peter and it all worked out. He got me a towel. The things that happened happened. But then like, immediately after he went back downstairs, my phone was telling me urgent low soon, which also makes me nauseous. So I was like, oh, maybe that’s what it was, a combination. But whatever. I’ve treated the low. I’m hopefully not gonna puke again. Moving on. [Peter] Good job. Thanks for being with me in my time of need. [Peter] You’ve got it. [Peter] Teamwork. And as I was puking I was like, hoping it wasn’t gonna make you puke. [Peter] Yeah, no. The Lord gives me grace in those moments. [Peter] Normally I’d be really grossed out, but your puke just… [Peter] it makes me want to love you more. Aww! Alright, we made it out of house today. I’ve been working on the computer all afternoon. Just a lot of, with our business, uh… transferring things down here to North Carolina and a lot of paperwork and online things that I’ve just been taking care of, and so… Mary was like… I was determined to come out. Yeah, she wanted to get out to the grocery store. And so I turned off work mode and now we’re grocery shopping, and we’re wearing coats because we’re in the air conditioning. But it’s actually really nice outside. Do you remember this? Oh yeah, I do. Was that from Scotland? No. Oh… It was just from Aldi, but I used to love it. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. In the freezer. Okay, we’re gonna get some groceries. We’re done at the grocery store and I’m sitting here apologizing. I just don’t feel good. So… And as I said, there’s no need to apologize. We’re in this together. And I appreciate that. I just feel bad that I’m like… So…I just do not feel right. Ugh. Well, your body is clearly fighting, and… Yeah. [Mary] Okay, we decided to stop and get some dinner, [Mary] and Peter’s tasting the sparkling pink lemonade we bought at Aldi. Mmm. [Mary] Is it good? It is good. So, I know we’ve talked about this before, but why pink lemonade? I don’t know. I remember we looked it up once. There is a reason. Do you like it or no? That’s good! It is good. Um yeah, we’re just waiting for our food to get done, because this girl needs to eat! But we, um, we have groceries now. Yeah. We even got a turkey breast that Peter’s gonna smoke, and we want to have Thanksgiving. Yeah, because why not? Like, before Thanksgiving we want to have Thanksgiving. Yeah, like soon. Because it’s so good. I got cranberry sauce. We got, we got a whole chicken. I’m gonna try smoking a whole chicken. It’s a whole new world. Not like smoking a chicken, but like smoking a chicken. Um… I’m already feeling better now that I’m not walking around. Good. It’s almost like my equilibrium’s off. Because I like, feel a lot like pressure in my head and then when I lay down I feel better. But anyway… Yeah. What were you gonna say? Well, while we were in the grocery store Mary goes… Uh, my purse has never been so uncomfortable. Like, you can tell when Mary’s not feeling good when she’s just uncomfortable. Like, things, normal things of life make her uncomfortable. Like, that’s how it manifests. Yeah, like last night trying to go to sleep. She was like a squirmy little pig in the bed. [laughter] I couldn’t get comfortable! She tries to like, turn upside down and go all… Anyways. Cheers to that. Mmm. So… Oh, it’s interesting. Yeah, it’s got a tart… Oh, it’s 2% juice. No way. Yeah! So carbonated water, sugar, citric acid, natural lemon and lime flavor. Ooh. Oh no! Oh. No, it’s good. Grape skin extract. Not grapefruit. I can’t have grapefruit. Oh, yeah. Grape skin extract. Now that is a new one to me. Esters of wood rosin. What? Esters of wood rosin. It’s a stabilizer. But grape skin extract? Oh, that girl’s food’s done. Ours is probably almost done. Nice. [car door closing] If I haven’t mentioned lately, dear Peter who’s editing this… Thank you. Thanks for putting up when I don’t feel good. Thanks for being ready for adventures when I do feel good. And for all of the in-between. I love you. The papaya that I got at Aldi last week [Mary] took some time to ripen. I googled it and it should be green turning yellow. [Mary] I’m really hoping… [Mary] that it works out. It kind of looks slightly rotten, but I’m really hoping [Mary] it’s okay. I’ve just never had papaya. Oh, whoa! [Mary] Oh! That was way softer than I thought. [Mary] Look at this, it’s like butter. [Mary] Okay, moment of truth! [Mary] Ah! [Peter] Oh my goodness. [chuckling excitedly] I’m so… It looks like frog eggs. Yeah, it looks so weird. Oh my goodness. I’ve just never seen one in real life. [Mary] Wow. [Mary] Ew! Peter… [Peter] What? [Mary] Come here and touch it. [Mary chuckling] [Mary] I thought these would be hard, but they’re really squishy. [Mary] That is interesting. Wow! [Peter] Okay, I’m gonna try, while you’re… [Mary] Really interesting. I got these maple cream cookies from Aldi. [Mary] Not sponsored. Yeah. [Mary] It really doesn’t want to focus on you. There you are. Oh, look at this. [Mary] Moment of truth. Oh yeah. [Mary] Is that good? They’re bigger than I thought. Me too. Exactly what I was imagining. [Mary] It’s like the fancy version of those Sunday school cookies. The little sandwich cookies, like… Like Oreos? No! Oh… Like the ones in the pack, like, all the… They’re like this. They’re not Oreos. I know, but they look like Oreos? Kind of. Hm. That’s good. Not at all. Okay, so I reckon I’m supposed to scoop out the seeds. I guess I could google it, but I’m really excited to try this. [plastic crinkling] [Mary] How does this go? [Mary] So, yeah, oh, it’s kind of like a cantaloupe. [Mary] Like, so far. Okay, I’m gonna scoop it out. Then I’m gonna cut it up. You’re going back in the microwave cuz that’s the right, um… height. Okay, I scooped out all the seeds and now I’m gonna taste it for the first time. First papaya. Cheers! [smacking lips] That is odd. Okay. That was not what I was expecting. Okay, you ready to taste it, hun? Yeah? [chewing] [laughter] [Peter] Ew. [chewing] I’m gonna guess, when it is ripe and fresh… Cuz I’m a… [Peter] I think that’s rotten. You think that’s rotten? [Peter] I don’t know. It is from Mexico. Do you want these apple juice packets in the fridge or out? Um, I think I’ll probably take those upstairs. Okay. A blood sugar…low blood sugar fixer. It’s cinnamon applesauce. No spoon needed. Cool. Worth a try. Yeah. Okay. So the papaya, I would say is… most similar, in my experience, most similar to a very ripe… cantaloupe. Like, the texture feels very similar. [Peter] Yeah. The flavor…I don’t know how to describe it. I’m gonna taste it again. I think you might be right, honey. I think it might be a little bit rotten. So interesting. Crazy! Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever had a papaya, or maybe like the most exotic fruit you’ve ever had. I remember my mom got us a star fruit. When you cut it left to right the like, profile of it looks like a star. That was pretty magical. That was probably the most exotic fruit I’ve had next to the papaya. Cool. [Peter] Hey monkey. Monkey see, monkey do. [Peter snorts] Alright guys, we’re gonna wrap it up here tonight and say… [both] As always, we’ll see you tomorrow. Good night! ♬ [Peter] And getting up for the cue. Stretch! [Peter talking as Ollie] Goodnight everybody! ♬♬

  1. Your message to Peter is awesome. My husband does the same stuff for me especially during this last flare and set back. I leave him little notes and Hershey kisses in places only he will find them. I know when he finds one because I hear him chuckle or he comes in and kisses me without saying a word. It is our love language. I don’t like Papaya fruit but I love Papaya juice. For me it is a texture thing but the juice is good. We get the fresh at Trader Joe’s. It is a great digestive enzyme for Mary.

  2. I have Addison's disease and have had a lot of stressors in the last month . So being on hydrocortisone pills for the last 15 years well now I have shingles … You really gotta take it one day at a time

  3. I don't like Papaya . To me tastes like perfume . Not that I have eaten perfume 😜 just to fermented for my taste.

  4. Most exotic fruit on its own would be starfruit. I ordered a drink and a slice of it came as garnish. Quite juicy! About the flavor profile of green grapes – mostly watery with some notes of sweet and tart.

  5. I love the connection between the two of you, love your vlogs. And love Peter's face when he tried the papaya. Lol 🤮

  6. I think regular papayas taste like vomit… but STRAWBERRY papayas are DELICIOUS and much smaller than regular papayas… but pale in comparison to dragonfruit and liliko’i (passion fruit). ♥️

  7. Can I ask a personal question, don’t answer if you don’t want to. But do you ever feel bad that you are always so sick and Peter is having to live this life with always worrying about your illness?

  8. Great aim Peter, I give you a 10!! I’m glad you feel a little better than yesterday and pray each day gets better for you. It’s a bummer you got sick, but like you said maybe it was your blood sugar too. I’m so glad that you two have each other and are always there to help one another through anything. Big hugs 🤗 and continued prayers 🙏 to you both. God Bless

  9. Never had a papaya. I think for me most fruit are considered exotic. Oranges, watermelons, pineapples, melons every single one of them is exotic fruit in my book. Never had that star fruit too but it does look magical and for most of my life i couldn’t figure it out.

Also Peter, nice shot! At first I couldn’t understand what was going on but then I realized where the door was and that was nice fly.

  10. Just a tad fermented perhaps??? Lol at Peter’s face after tasting the papaya. We used to have papaya digestive enzyme tablets that you would chew. If that tablet was representative of the taste of papaya fruit then imagine me making Peter’s face. Not tasty at all.😩🥴🤢

  11. Are you thinking of Vienna Fingers? They are more oblong than an Oreo. They are a vanilla cookie with vanilla cream in the center. I always forget about them but they are a cookie my dad was into when I was a kid.

  12. Hi guys, my family is from PR and papayas are grown there so I'm familiar with. Trust me is not just you guys it taste funky. I dont like it either but it looks perfect so is not rotten. Best way and only way I can have it is in a shake is really good. Vanilla ice cream, a bit of milk, papaya, cinnamon, you can add sugar as needed if you wanted sweeter, trust me is really delicious, try it this way so u don't have to loose your papaya.

  13. You can eat the seeds. They are very peppery in taste. Put them in salads. They are also good with a little bit of lime squeezed on it.It is not rotten. They have a very different taste.

  14. Never had a Papaya in your lives?? 30 years without a tropical Sheltered much!?!?? Food is amazing, get out there and try it!!

  15. I'm not a fan of papayas. you should try rambutan. look it up. I got it at Walmart fresh produce when I bought it. they look weird but they are pretty interesting and tasty.
Also you guys are sooo adorable! My husband and I have such a similar relationship and I love seeing you two love each other so much! God bless you both!

  16. Haha no, the papaya is fine, it actually just tastes like that. My favourite "exotic" fruits are lychees and longans and rambutans. But if you didn't like the papaya then definitely don't try durian. Actually even if you liked the papaya don't try durian. If you have any sense of smell do not try durian

  17. Next time add lime juice to your papaya!! I live on Maui and I go outside and pick a papaya and a banana every morning from the yard. Yesterday my dragon fruit was ready and that was a treat!!

  18. One of my favourite snacks is I cut up a whole papaya/paw paw and a few oranges and make it into a 2 fruit salad… give it a go!

  19. You talking about smoked turkey reminded me that the NC State Fair starts tonight in Raleigh and runs through the 27th. You can get smoked turkey legs there, lol. If Mary has a good day you might like to check it out. They have a really nice garden area she might enjoy. But it is generally a huge place and very crowded so may not be ideal but I just thought I'd tell you about it anyway. And also, traffic on 40 gets pretty bad during 'Fair Season.' If you do go, I recommend finding a 'Fair Bus' parking area and park there and take a bus to the fair as parking cars near the fair is next to impossible. There is one at Cary Town Center Mall and several other places, check the NC State Fair website. I hope Mary is feeling better soon!

PS, I have lymphocytic colitis and 'skunk up the bathroom' sometimes multiple times a day. It would have been so nice to have a man and family who 'loved me more' instead of giving me a hard time about it. (Sort of like the puke thing.) Anyway, Peter is awesome for saying that!

  20. You made it just as long as you needed to. You were the hero in the move like y'all needed. Give your body some love and appreciation for how much of a rockstar you've been.

  21. I love Aldi. I think they must change what they stock depending on location. Some of the foods you find just aren’t offered in England.

The love you share melts my heart. It’s so precious.

  22. Mary…..not sure but your headache could be from the barometric pressure that is coming through I get really bad headaches as well and sometimes that happens to me

  23. I was doing my laundry while watching this video and I thought my dryer was done but y’all have the same song on your washer/dryer and I heard it in the background haha

  24. I’m sorry for posting self-pity stuff on here, but man oh man, I wish someone cared for me as much as you care for each other!

  25. I had maple cream cookies the day after surgery, and then got really sick and ended up back in the hospital… now I have a mental block against maple cookies and maple flavored stuff! 😂

  26. I would recommend squeezing some lemon or lime on the papaya! It brings out that flavor taste MUCH better to me! You should try it out!

  27. my mum loves paw paw's ( aussie term for papaya) it wasn't rotten it was perfect, Thats exactly how they are supposed to look. i don't like them but my mum loves them, You could try having it with some ice cream, or cream drizzled over it.

  28. So I don’t like papaya plain, it’s a unique taste, that I don’t care for at all . BUT I recommend you give it another try, but this time squeeze fresh lime juice on the papaya once you’ve scooped out the seeds and HOLY MOLY it’s amazing with the lime juice.

  29. Papaya is definitely an acquired taste. Your papaya wasn’t rotten lol. I actually like mine riper than yours was. It’s one of my favorite fruits & really good for you. It’s known for its high amount of digestive enzymes.

  30. Papaya not rotten! That is the same face I made when I too anxiously took my first (& last) bite. I'm sure there are a lot of people that love it – sadly I am not one of them! Great shot Peter!

  31. I use to not like papaya but once I tried a strawberry papaya from Martha’s best I love all papaya now,! I would keep trying papaya and other varieties of it it may just take a few tries to like it but if not their are so many other wonderful exotic fruits you may love. I but you and Peter would love Mamey Sapote. It tastes like a pumpkin pie or sweet potato pie!

  32. I've had papaya, starfruit, dragon fruit, rambutan, lychee and others. I like to try new things when my stomach feels well enough to do so.

  33. That poor papaya was in perfect condition. I grew up overseas as a m.k. Miss the real papaya and mango from the Philippines.

  34. I love how you still put us in all the cabinets and the microwave today! You always put us into the microwave above your cooker in your old house. Thanks for keeping the tradition up. 😀

  35. 💪🏼💕🤟🏼 There must have been something wrong with the Papaya haha cause it’s so so so good, but I think room temperature could taste weird like texture wise but maybe it went bad cause that didn’t look enjoyable haha 😂 I have the same issue with pressure sometimes Mary, it’s very frustrating but you’re right when you say today is the day the Lord has made, rejoice and be glad in it! Sometimes it hard to remember to do that, thankfully watching your vlogs does remind me in a way cause positivity is a choose and joy is too, no matter what is going on! Love you guys and PS your words to peter so made me cry cause I feel the same with my hubby! Love you all ❤️ nice shot Peter, that was pretty cool!

  36. Papaya is my least favorite tropical fruit, but Tajin does improve it. Look for it in the spice or hot sauce sections at the store. Also great on fried bananas.

  37. Mary you should look at a "Sash Bag" it's easier to carry than a regular purse. Especially when walking with Ollie. It's a crossbody type bag and so easy on your neck and back.

  38. Oh my, I just got those cookies last night and ate almost the whole box!!!!! I took them apart and made them into double stuffers. It was just that kind of day!!

  39. Headaches are just awful! I had a horrible one on Wednesday; I ended up having to call off from work. Unfortunately I get a lot of headaches from EDS, but that one was particularly bad.

Great shot, Peter. That was quite impressive!!

“Your puke makes me want to love you more.” Now THAT is true love! And Peter is right…never apologize for not feeling good. Those are the ups and downs of chronic illness. That said, I, too, apologize often, because I feel like it’s a burden on everyone else when I’m sick

  40. I've tried to spend a little time looking, so no hate, but Peter mentioned a few days ago what glue he used on the microwave door. Can someone repeat that for me? My brother has the same problem and I'd like to let him know to try what the Freys used. Thanks!!

  41. Right before you put that in your mouth I said out loud it's not what you think it is. I don't like them. I love star fruit.

  42. I can't stand papaya. It taste like a dirty armpit lol. Not that I know how a dirty armpit taste, but it's how I imagine it to taste and that's gross!
